Peter Hunter brings more than 20 years of German automotive experience and a steady, methodical approach to everything he does at Berg Performance. Raised in Colorado's Green Mountain area, Peter has always been curious about how things work, spending much of his childhood taking things apart and putting them back together.

After graduating from automotive school, Peter took an unconventional path into the industry. While working in a bicycle repair shop, he met the owner of a German automotive repair business and offered to work for free simply to gain experience. That initiative quickly turned into a paid position and the beginning of a career spanning more than two decades.

When it came time for a change, Peter carefully researched local shops before finding Berg Performance. The shop's organization, cleanliness, and attention to detail immediately stood out and closely aligned with his own standards.

At Berg, Peter combines technical expertise with customer communication, helping guide repairs from the initial conversation through completion. He gravitates toward complex projects that require careful diagnosis, patience, and precision, whether it's major maintenance, engine repairs, timing component service, or multi-stage builds.

What Peter appreciates most about Berg is the transparency built into every repair. Detailed documentation, photographs, and real-time updates allow customers to understand exactly what's happening with their vehicles throughout the process. He holds himself to a simple standard: when a job is complete, it should look as though no one was ever there—clean, correct, and complete down to the smallest detail.

Outside of the shop, Peter spends much of his time exploring Colorado's mountains. In the summer, you'll find him hiking and mountain biking, while winters are spent backcountry snowboarding by snowmobile. He has also summited all 53 of Colorado's fourteeners, an accomplishment that reflects the same patience and dedication he brings to his work.
